Let me introduce myself. My name is Dana. I am the owner and sole groomer of Exquisite Touch Dog Grooming, LLC. I truly believe that growing up in a small town like Green Cove Springs, FL really shaped my future career path. I don't remember a time that I wasn't handling either the horses, chickens, dogs, or cats. After high school and college I spent many years working as management in the customer service field, and while I was very successful I never really loved what I did. Marriage and children came along, and for a long time I was a Stay At Home Mom. While at home I started working with local dog rescues. There was something so fulfilling in taking these pups who needed help and guiding them to become wonderful pets that any family would be lucky to have. Once my kids were both in school I desperately wanted to get back to work, but I didn't want to go back to the same old thing. I had enjoyed my time working with animals, and really wanted to stay in that line of work. So, after some searching I acquired a job as a part time bathing assistant at a corporate grooming salon. Have I said how much I enjoy working with animals?! This was it!
I immediately knew that I had found what I was meant to do, to take these pups, clean them up, and make them beautiful. I trained under the watchful eye of an amazing groomer with more than 20 years experience, and then spent a large amount of time on my own studying breed specific and pet style grooming. I spent two years as a Grooming Salon Manager, but realized that the corporate environment was not meant for me. I didn't like having to push our clients to upgrade to shampoos or treatments that their pet needed. Why charge $5-$10 dollars for a pup with sensitive skin to get an oatmeal shampoo? Or charge extra for a pup to get his nails buffed so that he doesn't tear up the skin of his older owner every time he jumps in their lap? No one likes dog breath, but why am I charging almost $10 for helping this pup maintain a healthy, smell free mouth? I wanted the ability to provide my customers and pets with the best spa experience, because that was what they deserved. The only way to do that was to open up my own grooming salon. Mobile grooming was the perfect solution. One on one time with the dogs, more convenient for the clients, and the ability to spoil the pups during every grooming appointment. Exquisite Touch Grooming truly caters to the needs of dogs and provides the loving care they deserve as our best friends. My priority is to create a safe, loving, spa environment that your dog will enjoy being in and you can trust that they are in good hands.
